Saban went to the NFL where there is a level playing field and got ran off with his tail between his legs.

Saban is a beast as a top Southern school where he can operate in the gray area and basically cheat. He has an ungodly amount of assistants on his staff and cuts players every year that are on schollie.

Same with Calipari and UK. Put Cal or Saban at a mid tier school and I don think they win big.

I think he could now because he could recruit at a high level on reputation. How would he have done had he been hired as a college coach after the Cleveland job? We'll never know but that's the real question.
