Got a subpoena yesterday
For an accident I was witness to/somewhat involved in. It mostly involved two other drivers but one of the guys cracked my tail light as he was veering out of control. It says I have to testify. I don't really have anything to say other than what was in the police report but I assume this is just protocol.
Anyone ever had to do this? What can I expect in terms of how long this will take?

Ask your buddy the security guard if he'll be your personal protection security detail going into court. It will give you gravitas in front of the jury.

If your subpoena lasts over 4 hours, contact your doctor.

Court. They can grill me all they want, I don't have anything to say other than what I told the police officer at the time of the accident.

Thanks gHost, I'll do that. Never been through this before so it's all new to me, and seemed very strange that I received this.

It does specify a time and date, yes. But I don't know if I should get there a half hour early or whatever.

Re: Got a subpoena yesterday
The reason why he didn't call you is because the other attorney is going to ask you if you were contacted by counsel and if so what did you tell him. I would have called you but it sounds like someone is fighting the ticket and it's a civil infraction hearing so. No private
lawyers may be involved. If that is the case, it could just be the little first year prosecutor representing the people of the state of Michigan and he wouldn't call you. He don't have time for that kind of prep.
