I just pulled a tick off my neck

This after finding one on my dog last night. I take him to the dog park regularly, so I'm thinking that's where they came from.

I'm freaking out a little bit, I've never had one before, I gone?

ID the type of tick it was. I changed a tire on the side of the free way once and later found ticks on me. Fortunately they weren't the lyme disease carrying ticks. I think they were actually dog ticks.

At any rate, it freaked me out. I hate to alarm you as well, but really check your scalp. They get up in your hair and dig in. It's disgusting.

Also, I went to the doctor as well for peace of mind. It can't hurt.

Go see a doctor and get some doxycycline antibiotics.

Just sit back and wait for the superpowers to develop.

Took one off my boys scalp last Friday.

Per the Doc, no need to worry about shit unless the little asshole had been on there for 36+ hours.

If you have a red bullseye where the tick was, then you need to see the doc. Otherwise, just carry on with life. They are nasty lil bastards, but they are not all carrying lyme disease and out to kill you.


PostScript: Ive had the damn lyme disease, it sucks, but meds will take care of it.

I live in Eaton County and I had never seen a tick until last year. I pulled several off myself, one on tWife, and found one completely engorged on the living room carpet from feeding on the dog. All the ticks were dog ticks which don't typically carry lyme disease.

A couple of years ago on a boy scout camping trip to Kentucky one of the scouts found a few ticks on himself while taking a pee.    Luckily his dad was also on the trip.

I've already seen more ticks this year than the last couple years combined. I read that they are going to be insane in Michigan this summer.

I was at my cottage last weekend and ended up finding two on me. Found another one in my jeep and multiple in my bedroom that had jumped off of the dog due to her flea and tick treatment.

This is by far the worst tick season I've seen.

I've had over a dozen ticks in my life and there's nothing to worry about it unless you start developing a rash around the bite. Otherwise, it's just a more annoying version of a mosquito bite.

That tick was probably one of those leftover NATO ticks from the NATO meetings in Chicago last year. The government released a bunch to track people, and now you have a tracking device inside of you.

Rub some butter on it and use a tiny fork for a delicious, quick meal that's light on your wallet and your waist.
