I'm watching the Women's Final Four

And I have no idea why. It seems pointless to watch any games of a Tournament that is decided before it even starts. Because let's face it, none of these teams will get within 20 points of UConn. As impressed as I am with Geno's streak, I actually think it's bad for women's college basketball because nobody else has a chance of beating them. So what's the point of watching?

Was in the car for a few minutes earlier today and had Jim Rome on. I get tired of the shtick sometimes but don't really listen often enough for it to bother me and sometimes the back and forth with the callers cracks me up.

He has a guy on hold and he says I know I know this name, but I can't remember why I know this name. Is it going to be one of those things where I take the call and a few seconds in I remember WHY I know this name and immediately regret it? There's only one way to find out....

He takes the call and the guy starts in on the Women's Final Four, breaking down the field. Talking about how magical it was when Baylor beat Southern Christian 120 to 16 in the first round, etc. Jim, I can tell you what I have. I have UCONN with an 87% chance to win the thing. I have Stanford with a 6% chance. I have South Carolina with a 5% chance. I have (whoever the other school is) with a 2% chance. I can tell you what else Jim. I can tell you there's a 100% chance that there will be terrible basketball being played by a bunch of women with short hair cuts...BUZZZZZZZZZZZ

Let me guess. Lance in Topeka? I used to like Rome's show but he's over the top with his clone shit all the time, the clone battles and all that trash. I couldn't take it anymore. If he would just stick to his hot takes and interviews, the show would be way better imo.

Rome definitely has good interviews, pretty good "takes" and I agree with his opinion most of the time. When he runs shit into the ground sometimes is when it is too much for me.

I find the clone stuff hilarious. Nothing funnier to me then when he takes a call from some moron like the above who has an awful/offensive call and then everyone and their brother piles on ridicules him. I might need to grow up but I find that shit really funny.

I tune in to Rome to hear who his guests are and when they will be on the air.

If I'm interested in the guest I go back to the show but other than Rome's interviews ....well I'm out and don't rack me. Have to admire Rome for finding a niche and schtick. He's making a nice living with 5-6 weeks off per year and a show that runs 9:00 AM-Noon Pacific. Figure Rome is in for production meeting at 7and be on the way home by 4.

Hell of it is theres J.T. The Brick who has an 8-11 EST show on FoxRadio who was the winner of the first Smack Off. He and Rome aren't on good terms.

J.T. parlayed his Smack Off win into a full time radio job and a few years later talked to an author who wrote Sports Talk. Rome wasn't happy with what he said.

Also Rome makes like ~ $30 mil/year so that's not bad.
