Biggest Reach in Round 1
Re: Biggest reach in Round 1
Some of those guys I really have no idea who they are. I saw this video last night of Gruden asking Trubisky do a hard count and the dude had no idea how to do it, so that's my answer.

Only time will tell, but considering what they gave up to get him, after just signing a big deal for a QB, I'd have to agree, though Peppers at 25 may still out do it. You don't pick special team players in the first round.Floyd Robertson wrote:Some of those guys I really have no idea who they are. How is Davis a reach? Dude is one of the best receivers in college football history.

Even if someone else was going to move up and take Trubisky at 2, the Bears gave up way too much to move up one slot to take a guy who probably won't be better than Watson anyway. Stupid move by a stupid shitty franchise.

Re: Biggest reach in Round 1
Tough call as all of the QB's involved trades and all were selected well ahead of where they graded out.
That said, I have to go with Mahones. You give up next year's first round pick and a third round this year to move up to get a guy with a second round grade. I understand gambling with a pick, but paying that big of a big price to make a gamble does not make much sense to me. His playground style is not going to work in the NFL. Yes, he could be a special NFL player, but the odds say he will not be.

After further review, the ruling in my first post stands. Davis from WMU is the biggest reach of Round 1.

I wasn't clear of the details on the Mahomes deal when I posted earlier. Knowing what I know now, I would say that's the biggest reach/worst value.

Re: Biggest reach in Round 1
If BR is saying Davis is the biggest reach, then I might need to re-evaluate my position.
One other thing: Isnt it kind of silly, at least generally speaking, to say any player taken in the first round was a steal? I know tbere are exceptions, but come on.

They didn't actually say he was the biggest reach, just a reach.
