The National Enquirer is owned by American Media Inc whose CEO is David Pecker who happens to be a Trump supporter.

Throughout the 8 years of the Obama administartion there were regular headlines that were less than complimentary to the President and his wife. The Enquirier turned towards attacking Hillary Clinton in the '16 campaign. After Trump won in November the headlines pivoted to weekly praise of Trump.

American Media purchased US, a weekly competitor to People in March. Within weeks the magazine started putting Ivanka Trump on its cover accompanied by complimentary articles.
