Machado is acting like his age. An immature baby right now. As much as I dislike the A's, they haven't done anything wrong. Even Donaldson's tag on Manny last night was fine. Manny overreacted big time.

No good friend of mine umped with the home plate umpire in the minors, worked together for a full year of A ball and attended a couple umpire camps together. Hung out with the guy last November.

I'm not sure what else can be done, short of completely starting from scratch, when it comes to fixing this bullpen.

I just don't get how this bullpen is so laughably bad. I'm not even asking for great or even good. Just be average.

We aren't getting back to the WS unless it's fixed.

Joba so far has been a very good signing. Rondon going down and Nathan royally sucking weren't exactly part of the bullpen plan going into spring training.

Dombrowski has been very good for the most part, but there's no denying he has not pressed the right buttons when it comes to the bullpen. Even when he tries to throw big money at the problem it still doesn't work. And it's head scratching because assembling a decent pen is much easier than assembling a starting rotation.

The team has fucked up opportunities for a month and a half.

You think so? I don't. Bullpen guys seem much more inconsistent year-to-year. Look at Boston last year or Oakland this year, or, or, or.

No excuses for Joba who has to not put a pitch waist high center cut. But even in his "best" outing Coke fuks us. If he pitches a clean 8th instead of hitting another batter and allowing a hit....the Red Sox come into the 9th batting 8-9-1, instead of 1-2-3.

Fell asleep early and glad I missed that one.

Tigers have needed a decent BP for at least the last 3 years.

Tigers just need to send scouts to Japan and find a good closer.

Yeah, I do. I think it's easier to find guys who can throw 1 or 2 innings than guys who can throw 7. Also, look at some of the team stats for relief pitching. The top 10 has several low payroll teams. You don't need to throw big money at your bullpen. Closer is another animal entirely. You need a stud to get those 3 outs.
