More MLB stadiums to extend nets after little girl gets hit with foul ball

Since the evidence has been out there for years now that this was the right thing to do, makes it pretty clear that fan safety isn't the the goal, avoiding lawsuits is. Japan did this a decade or more ago.

yikes - I realize that there is an "assumption of risk" in situations like this.. but it's not fun to imagine a 2 year old getting hit by a baseball traveling at 105 mph.

This just makes sense. Just like the nets at NHL arenas. Not worth the risk to not put them up.

The commissioner has some lame ass excuse that there's no one size fits all option because stadiums are different. So it's just a recommendation at this point and not a requirement. Those disclaimers on the individual stadium tickets might be enough to shield them from a lawsuit, but MLB might get hammered at some point.

Sad it took this for the league to wake up. The players have been asking for these for a while.
