Anybody drive a vehicle with HUD?
I didn't realize this was even offered. Turned out it's in cars and SUVs of all sizes and price ranges. Looks pretty cool.

Re: Anybody drive a vehicle with HUD?
Have leased three vehicles with HUDs. First was a Pontiac Grand Prix STE back in '91 when the technology was fairly new. Loved it.
Later leased '99 and '01 Grand Prix GTPs with HUDs. Still cool.
Only advice if buying or leasing a vehicle equipped with a HUD is to keep your broad collision deductible no higher than $100. HUD requires a specially tinted/filmed windshield that costs 3-4x more than a non-HUD windshield to replace.

Great info to have. Thanks, Pantry. Like I mentioned, I didn't know HUD was even available. Hearing from you that it's been around since '91 is mind bottling. Surprised more vehicles don't offer it, considering the age of the technology.

Yes, and then let him stick a hot knife in your brain. You’ll feel better after that. We’ll all feel better after that.

Re: Anybody drive a vehicle with HUD?
btw: The newer vehicle w/HUD also had night vision assist, and that’s something else that’s going to save lives as more vehicles make it available.

I want to get an old off-road SUV capable of avoiding roadways for when the water wars come.

I have no idea what a "vehicle with a HUD" is and I'm awfully proud of that.

I may not be able to park between two lines anymore, but I’ll have you know I’m the best driver on the road.
