So I totally forgot the NFL Draft was last night and I wake-up to see that the Lions drafted the TE from Iowa... no, the other one... and passed on Ed Oliver who, during the college football season, was considered far and away the best draft eligible player.

There is nothing a lions fan can do or say to me today to make me feel sorry for them, or disgusted with the lions organization. Absolutely nothing.
I am a fan of the worst organization in football.
There is nothing you can say or do, even by bringing up past history that will make me think otherwise.
Rashan Gary. It hurst to even type that name out.

Bro... he was the #1 prospect in the nation coming out of high school. By definition that makes him an elite player... or some other MGoBlog shit.

Same here. I saw it this morning. I took the fact that I didn’t know about it as a sign that I’m cured. Instead of getting worked up about the pick I felt elation that it didn’t upset me. Thank you Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia you’ve cured me.

Count me as not all that curfuffled about the lions taking who they took. They dont really need a DT, they did need a TE. I think people tend to just get curfuffled about whoever he lions take regardless, but odds are pretty good that in two years when everyone is saying “why didn’t they take that guy instead in 2019” it won’t be Oliver they’ll be talking about, but someone totally different that no one would have been happy with right now either. That’s usually how this plays itself out at least.

I would bet a lotta lotta money that Montez Sweat is more productive in the NFL than Gary. Bias aside. Gary may have measurables off the charts but he's just not a very good player.

Re: General NFL Thread
I watched most of it but not all. Way to much glam, glitz, and Showtime for me. I get it. Have fun, but it felt forced. I will say that of all the players I saw drafted most seemed to get it. Then there were two guys dressed like pimps from a 70's big city cop TVseries. But then again, who's got it better than them....

Oh boy.
I had to look up who he was (obviously), and this was the first thing I saw...
Tavai is a relative unknown -- so unknown, NFL Network didn’t even have highlights ready to go for the pick on Friday night. He suffered a shoulder injury that cut short his senior season and kept him out of the Senior Bowl and combine, and wasn’t expected to go until the fourth or fifth round according to NFL.com. He was the No. 24 linebacker in the draft and No. 237 player overall according to ProFootballFocus.

Good kickers and punters are one of the most valuable assets in football and they should go higher than drafting a backup linebacker fight me about this hot take

Your fifth round backup linebacker isn’t going to win a game ever. Your kicker probably will have a chance to, this season no less.

Because you will get a useful asset instead of using the pick to get a useless asset while hoping that the useful asset is still around later but it may not be. Why not just get the useful asset now while getting a different useless asset later

They don’t really have those in the nfl Nordic. Probably because of all of the teams without decent kickers letting decent kickers go undrafted. Fools.

I haven’t played madden in like 15 years but when I did I won every game. I also never turned the difficulty up last the first level and I always went 16-0 so I’m basically a brain genius
