I'll say it again: Mark Dantonio deserves one of the 8 or 9 national coach of the year awards for bringing Michigan State back to a 10-win season after going 3-9 last season. Fascinating coach to cover, very intense, his teams follow his lead.

This narrative has always bugged the fuck out of me. It wasn't until, what, 2002 that teams started playing 12 game regular seasons. It wasn't until 1968 that teams started playing 10 game regular seasons. Eleven game seasons started in 1971 and it wasn't for another 7-8 years that B1G teams got a second bowl opportunity. So from 1971 to 2002 you had to win 91% of your games to get to 10 wins. Not many teams were doing that. Now you only have to win 77% to get to 10 wins.
