tOfficial Swill Lost and Found
I thought this thread could be useful. In my advanced age, I need all the help I can get.
So I wake up in the middle of the night and for some reason I'm thinking about this butter that tWife and I had one time (she remembers too). It was at a restaurant neither of us can remember and served with warm bread. The butter was whipped up soft white and it had a sweetness to it and a distinct flavor that was absolutely delicious. I'm thinking an almond or maybe vanilla hint. I don't care about the restaurant as long as I can lay hands or re-create this butter.
Have any of you had this sweet and creamy goodness cross your palette?

I've had almondy-type butter at 3-4 restaurants. Not recently, and not that I remember which ones, so I'm not very helpful. Neither is the google because everything I see is for making almond butter, which is an entirely different thing.

IT's going to be a big day when WBH becomes a convert.
And for SG - They were probably making their own variety like this:
How to Make Homemade Whipped Butter
This has been pretty much acknowledged as the best butter out there - I know Whole Foods used to carry it, they probably still do.

I know what you're talking about and believe I was in a steak house once and was dumb enough to fill up on bread because it was really good. I googled the butter and came up with this:
The balls of butter are generally made in-house. I can't think of a single supplier who distributes them. They involve working semi-soft butter with two paddles until a ball is formed, and then putting a teeeeeeeeny pinch of sugar and a mere drop of lemon juice inside, then chilling them 'til service.
soft butter recipe without the sweet. You can add the sugar yourself.

Y'know I think I may have only eaten there once about a decade ago but Wags post mentioning a steakhouse made me think of Texas Roadhouse. I think that's what they use there, and that reminds me (going back some now) Mountain Jacks - they used the same kind of butter I think. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

1st place to start is to quit buying salted butter.
Then you get sweet butter to start with and don't really need to add sugar.

So, it seems like we all eat that shit. How many of you have filled up on the bread as stupidly as I have at a steakhouse that charges 40 plus for an entree? I know I have once, and probably more than once. Why TF do they do that?

Pretzel Bell used to serve whipped cinnamon butter with warm bread. That stuff was tasty.

The cinnamon butter at Texas Steak House is pretty good.

Damn, this thread delivers... and Texas Roadhouse may have been the place.
I thought this could be a general "where can I find thread". I never realized butter would be so popular.

SG? It's dairy after all. You should never be surprised by the popularity of any dairy product.
If Pantry really wanted to be a boss he could acquire one of those little Dazey butter churns and make his own.

And now we know how Dendro was wooed by Mr. Dendro, with a loaf of French bread and a fifth of Popov.

Too rich for my blood. I only deal in half a loaf of generic Kroger day-old bread and a bottle of Thunderbird. .

I wasn't familiar with Thunderbird so I google'd it and found this info from bumwine.com
"As pictured to the left, look for the pigeon feces and you'll find this old bird. As soon as you taste this swill, it will be obvious that its makers cut every corner possible in its production to make it cheap. Self-proclaimed as "The American Classic," Thuderbird is Vinted and bottled by E&J Gallo Winery, in in Modesto, CA. Disguised like Night Train, the label says that it is made by "Thunderbird, Ltd." If your taste buds are shot, and you need to get trashed with a quickness, then "T-bird" is the drink for you. Or, if you like to smell your hand after pumping gas, look no further than Thunderbird. As you drink on, the bird soars higher while you sink lower. The undisputed leader of the five in foulness of flavor, we highly discourage driking this ghastly mixture of unknown chemicals unless you really are a bum. A convenience store clerk in Show Low, AZ once told me that only the oldest of stumbling indian drunks from the reservation buy Thunderbird. Avaliable in 750 mL and a devastating 50 oz jug."

Front the same website regarding Night Train.
"Some suspect that Night Train is really just Thunderbird with some Kool-Aid-like substance added to try to mask the Clorox flavor."

Not even joking a bought a loaf of Kroger bread from the discount/throwaway aisle the other day because it was marked down to .99. I'm not even a cheap ass but it just seemed like a good deal.
