And has since apologized. IMO, that’s not enough.

I grew up being told by pretty much every girl and then woman not to use that word, ever. In the last couple of years, however, I’ve started hearing women use it. First, on a couple of podcasts, then by Facebook friends. IDK, it might be a way for these women to take the power out of the word by co-opting it, the way some POC use the n-word, but these women are using it in the same context as it was used previously.

Bee’s use of the word does not rise to the level of racism, such as Roseanne’s “joke” the other day, but what was the point of calling her that other than for its vulgarity? It certainly wasn’t for comedic effect.

Nevertheless, tossing around the C word doesn't usually get you laughs. No idea what she was going for. This is a sticky one, though. It walks right up to the line of getting you fired but I'm not sure it crosses it.

I agree it was pretty rude. She called a word. Didn't mock a physical disability or say anything racially insensitive. Of all the words that you can't call my wife, bitch is the one that pisses her off the most. She could care less about the C word. Hell, in England I think it's used quit often. Towards men.

I’ve watched her show from the beginning, and I’ve always enjoyed it. The only reason this is getting any attention is because of the whole Roseanne thing. The difference is, this is how she acts in her show. She calls people pussies, assholes, douchebags, etc. While I don’t know for sure if her show would be cancelled, I don’t think it will because it’s always been her act.

Though a little bit more about Bee's joke. Are we really suppose to believe that her joke crossed a line? Are we supposed to believe she would be offended by being called a lady by a middling comedian on a late night talk show?

Keep in mind that her very own FATHER said to all of America on television she was very hot and if he weren't her father he might be dating her. With her sitting right next to him, if I remember correctly. If you're not offended by that, I'm not buying that Samantha Bee crossed any line whatsoever.

They simply manipulated the mainstream media to project their {gasp} outrage... you can't support someone who brags about sexually assaulting women, is accused of raping a 13 year old girl.. is on audio/video flirting with a 10 year old girl.. mocks disabled people.. denigrates POW's.. and then suddenly be outraged when a comedian nobody has ever heard of says something unflattering about your daughter/girlfriend.

I mean, you can be.. but it just makes you deplorable.
