How so? No one will remember Gary Harris in 5-7 years.

Agree. I think the same about Gary, but Gary can play defense.
Do you think this is why we have not heard his name? He is not a lights out shooter, and if he is not seen as a guy that will make plays in the lane, maybe teams are passing. I don't think he goes to the Suns here. Probably Denver at 19.

I bet it's because of the 6'2 measurement.

Pretty crazy drop for Gary, if only he were a couple inches taller.
Doesn't really mean much though. Make a few hundred thousand less for your first 4 years and play on a better team.

Bradley Beal comparison is a good one, which is basically a Ray Allen comparison.
Gary plays defense better than either of those guys on top of it. Steal.

I think that initial report was debunked, he's taller than that. But measurements without shoes on aren't relevant until they decide to play barefoot. Each guy wears the shoes that he's comfortable in. Measure them all in their preferred shoes and be done with it.

I hate the whole "He is X'X without shoes." It makes no sense. They play in shoes.

I agree re: barefoot and in shoes - it's silly, but that was his actual measurement barefoot at the draft combine. It was 6'2.5.

Like the way things are shaping up for Chicago to challenge Miami in the East next season. It all depends on Rose and what kind of player he is when he returns, but Chicago is making moves.

They pick again at 29. He would have been there at 29, but not sure why they took him at all. They have two first round picks, need frontcourt help, and took a guy that missed an entire season because of injury and then skipped a pre draft physical.

Re: tOfficial NBA Draft Thread
Yahoo draft blog on the McGary pick...
Much of McGary's draft stock is based on one brilliant three-week stretch in the 2013 NCAA tournament. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 14.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game as the Wolverines advanced to the national title game before falling to Louisville. McGary was a preseason All-American this past season but played in only eight games before undergoing lower back surgery. He conducted only a couple of workouts for NBA teams this month and did not undergo a predraft physical. When healthy, McGary is a formidable screener and rebounder who is effective in pick-and-rolls and uses his body well to defend big men. MARC J. SPEARS' DRAFT GRADE: C

...and now Napier is the solution to Miami's problems.
Yes, they need a PG but an undersized rookie is not the answer. Defense was a big problem and I don't see Napier as a great defender in year one.
