I'm worried though about team sports. Seeing a lot of schools in CFB where chunks of the team are testing positive for Covid. I'm skeptical we see a season. For tennis, yes they should have opened up sooner.

What a fiasco. They failed to draw Rafa, monfeis, Federer is hurt and djokovic is out. Serena is their only hope for big ratings.

Is there a precedent for firing a tennis ball at a judge and injuring them? That's gotta be some sort of suspension right?

When I first saw Djokovic clip and him only, I was like "meh.. whatever".

Then I saw a different angle and was like Shocked - that lady got drilled.

Not good.

I don't care if it was on purpose or not, he rifled a ball in the area of a judge. Pretty shitty thing to do.

Negligence doesn't require intent, and the official statement mentioned that hitting a ball in a negligent and dangerous way is a no-no.

Besides, after his little corona party a couple of months ago he can go fuck himself anyway.

He’s always ranked low on my list of the big three and I wasn’t wild about his efforts to form a union. I do think what happened was an accident but it was pretty stupid thing to do. Also, the whole thing is a bummer and on brand for 2020.

Clearly a code violation. Glad they booted him. What kind of douche makes the argument that he shouldn’t be given a match penalty “because she didn’t have to go to hospital”.

Clearly an accident but the rule is if you throw a racket or hit a ball out of anger and it hits someone you are out. A player smashed a ball a few years ago after a point and it broke the chair umpires eye socket. The ball that djokovich hit yesterday hit her in the throat and caused her to drop. Seems like a good rule to me.

Yeah, man, right on. The middle aged lady line judge that got a tennis ball in the throat, well after play had stopped, because a player was mad, she should just stand there and take it like a man.

Too much TDS and bullshit in tBin. Not worth the time. I prefer the political forum on the BBQ board as it's far more balanced. I don't even go there very often.

Shapovalov won the 4th 6-0 and then lost the match in the 5th. Ouch. Wish I could have stayed up late enough to take that one in.

Good match. Azarenka flicked on a switch and kept her energy so high. Women’s matches have been more competitive than the men’s. Hoping we see better tennis in the men’s quarter finals.
