Jesus. Can't believe he was 94. I was too young to really know much about him politically or as a person. I remember read my lips, no new taxes and that's about it from his Presidency. RIP.

Didn't vote for him in 88 but did vote for him in 92.
He did hand write my grandma a real nice letter when my grandfather died.

Seemed like a good dude. I wish we could go back to the 80's politically.

When you go through his list of life time achievements from fighting in WWII, being the captain of the Yale Baseball team, to his life in public service he was a remarkable man. RIP George Bush.

He was in his 90’s. He was probably suffering from some type of mental atrophy. Doesn’t make it right, but his handlers are as much to blame. With that, I’m moving this to the bin. All comments are still welcome.

The obit I read mentioned how, during the war, when the plane he piloted was on fire and going to crash, he turned it so his crew mates wouldn’t be jumping into the wind. He was 22 years old at the time. That presence of mind, especially at such a young age, is remarkable. In a cruel irony that must’ve haunted him, his mates all died and he was the only survivor of the crash.

The simple point is that for all the rhetoric about Republican hate, keep in mind this was a Republican that was supposedly a "good" Republican that we should all have loved and the lefties in the media still can't restrain themselves from smearing him.
They aren't pissing on his grave they're pissing on his warm corpse.
The hate and divisiveness in this country isn't even close to a one way street.

Both of the sources you’re citing have all sorts of articles about bush today that are full of praise. You’re cherry picking.

Re: RIP George Bush 41
Way to take two tweets as rock solid evidence that an entire political party and all of their followers are pissing on the "warm corpse" of 41. Makes a lot of sense. In fact with all of the praise and "honorable" comments I've seen across social media today from the left I'm surprised you haven't taken to slandering him as a phony as you did McCain.

He was a statesman. Understood global geopolitical dynamics, mostly avoided really vicious rhetoric against the other side, and waged a smart war in the Middle East. The last president to understand what an exit strategy was. RIP.

I remember during Obama’s Administration there was some article about who is/was the president with the best sense of humor. My vote was for George H. Bush. His cameos on SNL were hysterical and the WHC dinner with Dana Carver was great. He had a good sense of humor about himself and a good wit.

And the Atlantic joins in on the bashing of the "good" Republican....the difference from 30 years ago is that none of them even try to hide their bias.

The weird thing with conservative internet brain rot is that you are not allowed any coverage of anything that is in any way not 100% for something. You’re either all in or you aren’t at all. So you’re either pissing on graves or you’re 100% for the perfect fallen hero. There is no in between or grey area when you have conservative internet brain rot syndrome.

Re: RIP George Bush 41
If Bill Clinton died tomorrow, what do you think the coverage would be like? It would probably be about 65/35 towards his successes and accomplishments as a President, his personality, and his saxophone playing vs. him being a hornball that stuck a cigar up an intern's pussy. And that would be totally fine. And fair. I mean I was young. But I think the guy was a pretty successful, diplomatic President who was a horn dog. That's all part of his legacy.
For the record, Trump's legacy will be that he was the worst, most clueless, out of touch, con man, self important, unequipped, racist, rapey, narcissistic, dishonest President of the forever. And for every moment the spineless Republican party continues to back his antics, it will set this country further into an irreparable hole.

Watched 60 minutes. Had a good story on HW with lots of W reminiscing on his father. I remember when W was president thinking we'd never elect anybody that dumb again. My God was I wrong. He seemed reasonably intelligent comparatively. Orange has lowered the bar so much. Not sure this country will recover.

It’s not possible for the liberal media to do a good story on a Republican like 41. Goose said so.

Re: RIP George Bush 41
while Goose is sad about how mean people are to Bush 41, I'm a little surprised that he hasn't posted what his christian hero, the racist, bigoted sexual predator said about him.
here's the video from one of his white supremacist rallies.. I'm sure Goose is outraged by this.. right?
“The thousand points of light, what the hell was that by the way? Thousand points of light, what did that mean, does anyone know? I know one thing, Make America Great Again we understand. Putting America first, we understand. Thousand points of light, I never quite got that one. What the hell is that? Has anyone ever figured that one out?

Goose isn't a Republican right now. He a member of cult 45. He'll resume being a Republican again after Trump is kicked out of office/strokes out/add your own reason for Trump leaving the White House here.
