Well they were denied use of the National Guard during the attempted coup so I doubt they were offered before.  Also this is more on the Capitol Police than the DC Police.

DC or Capital Police, I'm not an expert but this is unacceptable. If there's cops that are sympathetic to stop the steal and that's why the handled this with velvet gloves then we gotta fix this.
