“Next question”
Wasn’t done to motivate his team. Was done to get home to a sick daughter.
The man is unbelievable. We’re pretty lucky here.

It can be anything we want it to be I guess. According to his daughter, it was only one thing. To me, it makes it even more legendary.

Context that seems to be lacking.

I'm pretty sure Lauren was in the hospital at the time of the infamous next question presser.
I posted a story on TOB about Coach D going out of his way to visit a sick friend of mine that was also at Sparrow. Long story short: an employee spotted Dantonio in the hall and asked if he would drop by my buddys room. He was not there as he was in the basement at PT. Instead of just leaving, Dantonio took the time to visit him there. Spent a solid half hour with him.
Mark Dantonio is a good guy.

Yeah, when he took my kids around the Duffy when they were 11 and 8 and my 11 year old was mesmerized by him, she left saying, "Dad, I really want to go to MSU now, but if I can't get in, I'll go to Harvard I guess". We laughed. But 11 years later, she graduated from MSU. that day really made an impression on both my kids because him and his wife were so welcoming. It wasn't just because I had coached a couple of camps with him and sort of knew him either. I've heard 100's of stories like mine from people just bumping into the Dantonio's. I also know so many people who have Izzo stories of that nature.
MSU went through some real shit when we were in college Duff, but we can't say we've been very lucky to have those two in our time as grads. My hope is, and I think OTPT has said this, Dantonio gets to exit gracefully, not with idiots yelling for his head. Guy is unbelievable .
