Absolutely. Ironic he died same week as coach. 8/28/76. I was 14 years old. Glacier Arena Traverse City. First concert I’ve ever attended. Don Berner’s big sister got us high and we went. Fly by night. Don had moved to TC from Manistee. My best friend. I’m gonna call him. Thanks for putting this here. Guy was amazing. Motorcycle guy. He’d insist on riding his bike to gigs while touring. I’m bummed. This sucks.
RIP. Please play a solo for my pops up there.

Re: Neil Peart. RIP
I knew Peart wrote Fly By Night after a show at Metro Ice Arena, which is on the west side of Lansing. What I just learned, or knew and then forgot, then relearned tonight, was that Rush’s first ever American show was in ‘74 at the Northside Drive-In in Lansing. There were several bands billed and thousands of attendees were expected, but under 2,000 showed up because the weather sucked.

They loved Detroit Ontario Lansing Milwaukee Chicago wandered as far as St. Louis. But they cut their teeth in our area.

One of those bands I’ve never gotten around to exploring their albums but I should. Either way the guy was a legend and he will be missed. RIP

Holy shit. The more I’ve learned about him in the last couple of days the more I realize what a remarkable individual he was. TIP

Rush is the Everyman band. The more that I learn about them, the more I like them. Not idolize, like. I would rather have a beer with them and shoot the shit than attend a concert (but I'd take the concert as a consolation prize). Geddy and Alex are WWII babies. Kind of amazing.
