GM globally (excluding China since they currently have actions in place) has been instructed to work from home starting Monday. An end date has not been shared.

Yes sir. All of Michigan schools are officially closed from Monday till April 6th. I assume most have followed suit and also cancelled Friday as well. Yeah, looks like the reports have changed. Local news here, as well as The Guardian in the UK (very reliable,), reported he was positive. Seems like false reports out of Brazil. Must be the Brazilian Costanza reporting.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of the City of Miami tested positive (likely got it from it the Brazilian press secretary). The Mayor of Miami-Dade COUNTY, who was in the same meetings, tested negative.

Nice little town. Struck up a conversation with an old drunk guy at CJ's. He told me he went to MSU years ago (70's maybe?), played football until he got hurt and they sent him home. Who knows.. he seemed harmless enough.

The town is alright. Not a lot of restaurant and bar options, but it has been getting better the last couple of years. CJ's is solid. They have a good bourbon selection. I'll usually hit that up over Sagebrush, which is always packed/overrated IMO.

Heard that today. ~20,000 people at the Tech Center working from home.

It's official at our place too. Going in Monday morning to pick up a laptop and a couple monitors then, head back home. Guessing our IT guys are pulling their hair out right about now.

So my job involves being in the field , ie hospitals and offices. Many of them have now closed off to us. But I was hoping to maybe stick with some appts, as my job cannot be done from home full time.

Anyway , my boss calls and tells me specifically to just stay home. Do what I can , even if it's not much. She doesn't want a pregnant chick out and about.

I get it. It makes sense. Still frustrating . So much I had planned.

I went “old guy” yesterday. There’s a restaurant in town. Good food, good service. Right next door to the hospital. Yesterday they had a sign out front that said “The only corona here is the one with a lime in it” I posted on their FB page that I really like the restaurant and recommend it but the sign was out of line. Our area has an aging population and I just thought it was a little insensitive all considered. They responded they take all precautions and just wanted to inject a little humor into a stressful situation.

Do any of these numbers take size or infrastructure into the equation? Yeah it's scary, not Steve level but scary, but Italy has about 1/5th the population and 1/32 the area. Italy closer in size to California with 20ish more million people
