Does yeast exist anymore?
I bought a 4 ounce bag a couple weeks ago at Philips Orchard north of St Johns. Horrock's has 25 lb bags of flour for sale, Philip's probably does too. Or if you're so inclined you can make sourdough bread, you just use naturally occurring yeast which will find it's own way into your dough. I've got some artisan bread dough in my refrigerator right now waiting on me to bake it. Pretty surprising how easy it is to make. My wife wants me to make some of the bread that looks like store bought, maybe next time but I'm going to have to get more flour.
I do seem to be doing okay in quarantine, at least that's what I tell myself.

My six year old daughter has been bit by the baking bug. It started when she wanted to make donuts and has progressed from there. It has been fun teaching her to bake though.

We probably shouldn't let Bob decide where the Up North line is for this.

Whitmer Announces Partial Reopening In Northern Mich., U.P.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced today the partial reopening of areas of the state, including the Upper Peninsula and much of northern Michigan beginning on Friday.
Under Ms. Whitmer's order, 2020-92, all of the U.P. and 17 counties in northern Michigan, including Traverse City, will be able to open – with restrictions – retail businesses, bars, restaurants and office work that cannot be done remotely.
Bars and restaurants will be able to open, but must be at 50 percent capacity, servers and bartenders will be required to wear masks and patrons must be sat six feet apart.
Ms. Whitmer also signed another order today requiring all businesses to adhere to strict safety guidelines to protect their workers, their patrons and their communities from infection.
Businesses opening must, among other things, provide training for workers that covers, at a minimum, workplace infection-control practices, the proper use of PPE, steps workers must take to notify the business or operation of any symptoms of COVID-19 or a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, and how to report unsafe working conditions.
Counties in northern lower Michigan covered under the reopening order are Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, Roscommon, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Crawford, Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Presque Isle and Emmet.
All counties in the U.P. are covered: Gogebic, Ontonagon, Houghton, Keweenaw, Iron, Baraga, Dickinson, Marquette, Menominee, Delta, Alger, Schoolcraft, Luce, Mackinac, and Chippewa.
Gongwer News Service will have more on this story in Monday's Michigan Report.

I'm pretty okay with not hanging around the types of screech about not being able to go to the All-U-Can-Eat Nip-n-Sip during a pandemic. I don't think I have a lot in common with those fine patriots.
Thanks, though.

I suspect we'll find out pretty soon that the "OPEN UP OUR STATE" types only want to apply that policy to certain people in that state.

Jackson gets its own region? K. On second thought, yeah... let keep that region right where it's at.

Gonna be interesting to watch Delta county cases. I've heard since the casino in Harris opened on Friday they've had a ton of people from Milwaukee and Green Bay showing up.

Do Lehto's about 7 miles west of the Bridge on US-2. The best pasty places are a couple hundred miles away from there.tGreenWay wrote:Jake from State Farm wrote:

Gotta fudge the #'s to make things look good so we can continue with the reopening. Don't be a Debbie Downer.
