Solid list. Dookie seems a little late in the game, how old were you?

Re: 5-10 albums that influenced your musical taste
I have probably gone through four phases of musical taste in 50 years. I don't want to talk about anything before like 1979 because it was mostly crap.

The Clash
This Year's Model and Get Happy - Elvis Costello
End Of The Century - Ramones
Seconds of Pleasure - Rockpile
Stray Cats
The Used - The Used
Tell All Your Friends - Taking Back Sunday
Appeal To Reason - Rise Against
Take This To Your Grave - Fall Out Boy

I was 27 when it hit so yeah, late in the game. It Jesus every song on that album was HARD. I left off a ton of the 90’s stuff. Stuff I really really love. But it wasn’t my foundation. I did include GD cause it was so so good.

+1 for the Clash. I should be perma banned for leaving them off. You 90’s cats had it good. Peppers, STP, AIC, etc.

So influence, I guess means albums that led me to new bands or sub-genres, so I'll keep my list a bit limited.
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt 2
Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth
Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica

You're basically my music soul mate. About the only one I would differ with is Radiohead. Replace that with NIN - Pretty Hate Machine.

Re: 5-10 albums that influenced your musical taste
Led Zeppelin - I guess II, but fuck, all of them. I thought I’d discovered the holy grail when I dug those out of the record bin in the late 80s.
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Megadeath - Peace Sells but Who’s Buying?
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Prince - again almost any record but probably Sign O the Times. Although if I’m honest I listened to Batman more than any other album.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic (I was 19)
Pearl Jam - 10
Phish - Rift (never became a phish head but that was a great album).
Radiohead - The Bends ( but again... all of their albums are great)
Ben Harper - Fight for your Mind
Jeff Buckley - Grace
That’s probably only to like 2000. My tastes have evolved a lot since.
