Then again ESPN did employ rob parker so in a way, she is a major upgrade

As a professional journalist and MSU alumni I would expect her to know the difference between the words "axed" and "asked." To purposefully mispronounce a word as a way to show solidarity with the black community seems racist.

Fitting considering that was and is her favorite topic.
The State News should re-print some of her best race-baiting columns from back in the day as a tribute.
I'm trying to remember if any of her columns from the State News were not race baiting.

I always wondered that too.
Somehow after graduation, she became the MSU beat writer at the Freep, where she pretty much ripped off the kids at the State News. (Just goes to show how little the Freep cared about MSU coverage as her rip offs were fairly blatant.) She then parlayed that into a columnist gig in Orlando and then on to ESPN.

there was this one Spartans Will video - or one of those rah-rah productions - where they interviewed an alleged MSU graduate who didn't have a grasp on the most fundamental parts of the English language - I was embarrassed for her and me (as an MSU graduate).

That other MSU writer (Shannon something) was pretty good, fair. She didn't write opinion columns, though. Hill does and the only people who like it are blacks who empathize with her mindset.

Nothing like a Jemele thread to bring out the angry wronged white dudes. For over a decade, it never fails.
It is funny that people are still mad at her about shit she wrote in college. Thank God I wasn't widely published at that time, because I'd be fucked.
And if you know anything about the ESPN brand, you understand how she is directed to act.

She doesn't bother me at all. I knew people that knew her back when I was at school and I heard she was pretty cool and pretty funny. The few espn articles of hers that I read I enjoyed.

Who said we were mad? Pointing out that all of her columns dealt with race/racism isn't being mad. As gHost put it, it's just a bit baffling how that one trick pony type of writing got her where she's at. I'm happy she made it to ESPN and while she's not the most talented on the network, she can hold her own.
