B1G football standings (an alternate look)

So the B1G has 4 teams with 5 or more wins, and 12 teams that each have 2 wins

So here is how those to 4 teams sort out
Ohio State has beaten Indiana, so they are 1-0 against the other good teams
Indiana hasn't beaten a top team, so they are 0-1 with the loss to tOSU
Northwestern is 1-0 beating Iowa, but they have a loss to MSU
Iowa is 0-1 with the loss to the Wildcasts, and they also lost to Purdue

So really what do we know about the B1G - that they have all pretty much played a bunch of shitty teams and have mostly won those games. I know the folks in Buckeye nation think they are one of the top 4 teams in the country; but how in the hell would anyone know.


The next tier includes Wiscy and Maryland, but they have both had Covid issues and have only played 4 games - 2 wins each/2 losses each. Maryland has wins against Minny & PSU, and lost to both NW and IU; Wiscy has wins against the Piss/Blue and Illinois and losses to IU and NW. So that doesn't say much for either of them. I don't think Michy plays OSU this week, because why would you do that when the Buckeyes need to roll up as many points as possible to "impress" the selection committee

Only 4 teams in the conference have played all 7 of their scheduled games so far, IU, PSU, Rutgers and Iowa, no games have been cancelled this week - yet.
Looks to me like this weeks Iowa/Wiscy game will decide who plays OSU next week.

IMO - there is no way to look at records, statistics, or any other quantitative results and put OSU into the playoffs. Which is sad because it could be 2 SEC teams in and 2 "ACC" team in (if you call the Irish an ACC school). Although I can't figure out if the 2nd SEC school is 'gata or aggy

that is all - just the as I see it (so glad hoops season started)

Nailed that part

Would love to see them put a game together, it is only Tuesday, with ND, A&M, Cincinnati (or Tulsa - not sure which one has the Rona)....but that is unlikely to happen
