This is really cool. It is kind of crazy to think Jason Richardson's son and Zack Randolph's daughter could be first years on the men's and women's teams in the same year.

Izzo isn’t known as a coach who likes to get into bidding wars. He actively avoids them. So for that reason, I don’t see him making a huge push to out-duel Alabama or Texas here.

The Spartans will now turn their focus toward guys like Bryson Tucker and Jase Richardson.

I honestly thought he would be done by now. Especially with NIL and the portal. But you're right Dwags, he has crazy energy.

I've never gotten the impression that he was ready to quit. He has always looked miserable on occasion, like when Marvin Clark, Jr. made a free throw he was supposed to miss against Indiana in 2015, but usually he's fired up and engaged in his job.

Jase Richardson’s cousin Ty Rodgers transferred from Grand Blanc HS to Thornton Township HS in IL for hs senior season in 22 ‘and signed with the Illini.

Yeah, if there was any single time where he considered retirement, that would've probably been it.

When it comes to the portal, I don't think that'll push him out. I think we all need to appreciate the 3-D chess he played over the past year. He actually used the portal to build loyalty, which may have been the smartest off-court move any coach has made recently.

This is why I don't think you can compare Izzo to Dantonio. Seems to me Izzo is still very energetic and enthusiastic. Dantonio seemed to phone it in at the end. As far as this years team, meh, sometimes the chemistry in the lockerroom just doesn't mix. I'm getting more and more suspicious that we have that team. Just dont' seem to be bothered by losing. We'll see if the little elf can turn it around. He's done it before, but sooner or later, he won't. Maybe this is that year.
