App State was a trap game for them, I think. And may have acted as a wake up call. I'd probably have preferred Miami to blow out App state and get over confident, but on the other hand, maybe they just aren't all that great.

I'm a little concerned with how we gave up a lot of yards to the YSU QB on the ground, and how our D will fare against King.

I’m not sure you can count on King to throw down field reliably. 44 completions for 379 yds? Sounds like a lot of dink and dunk. Thorne has 31 completions for 600 yards for comparison. I get that opponents were stronger.

And sunshine pumpers in the first post had me laughing out loud!

Like certain other Walmarty fanbases that go by "UM", Canes fans that went there are decent, but the rest are heavily asshole idiots. Fortunately, Miami is a bandwagon and event town, and no one is jumping on the bandwagon after getting blown out by Bama and barely beating App State. And we aren't good enough (yet) to be an "event" game. Add that the noon start will keep some Canes fans away, and there shouldn't be an overwhelming home crowd.

Hopefully Florida Spartans bring it strong, too. After playing bowl games in the state 4 times in 5 years, it has now been a decade since we have played anywhere in Florida, and the first time in South Florida since 1938 (fuck you, Florida Atlantic, for not getting your stadium built in time a few years ago).
