were you there? Sounds like a great game.
I was in undergrad in North Carolina and the idea of being a Spartan was just a glimmer in an 'ol mountain boy's eye..

George Perles smash mouth football. To think we played #1 ND and then #2 Miami in back to back weeks is crazy to think about now. George never backed down from anyone.

Maybe I’m misremembering, but didn’t we get our ears pinned back something like 50-3? They had future NFL HoFer Cortez Kennedy. It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t a great game.

If only you linked a video of the game in which the score pops up.

You are most definitely misremembering, as we didn't get blown out and it was a great game.

FSU beat MSU 31-3 in 1987.
Nebraska game was Saban's first in '95. 50-10.

Yep. I think Lawrence Phillips just went for 35 more down our sideline from the grave. I was at that beat down. That team was unbelievable

The combined scores of those two Nebraska games in 95 and 96....Nebraska 105 MSU 24.

And Saban said the players quit. What a great first game.

I went to both games but will never forget the one in Lincoln. I had a sideline pass as the assistant to the sideline coordinator ( Red Hat ) for ABC sports. He's the guy who signals in TV timeouts.
Anyway, my only job that day was to cue the Husker team onto the field before the game. I swear they ran 150 guys out of the tunnel. Incredible experience.
Also, we were so incredibly outmatched in that game. I think we went through 4 QB's ( including wide receiver Mill Coleman)

One of my lasting memories of that Nebraska game was being in the student section. It was one of those days where it is so overcrowded that everyone is pretty much standing sideways. Anyway, some big 40-something Nebraska fan comes and tells us that we're in his seats. As if his wide ass would fit there anyway. Fucking idiot. We asked if he was a student. Pointed out on his tickets where it said that the ticket was only for students. We then encouraged him to go complain to an usher. Never saw him again.
That was, sadly, the high point of the day in the stadium (tailgating was still great, before and after).

It’s funny when outsiders don’t understand how the FB student section operates regarding seat assignments. Might be that way for MBB, IDK. Probably that way throughout college FB
