The group can essentially be split into two categories – the commits Smith inherited when he was hired Nov. 25 and those he has added since arriving in East Lansing.

It's not a slight. Not only for the reason you mention, but I also remember the program doing pretty well when the focus was recruiting talent that fit the program regardless of stars rather than recruiting talent regardless of fit.

Play selection when going for it on 4th & 1 will be the determining factor on offense. For the defense, how about not completely sucking against the pass for the first time this decade?

The results of the third drive will determine the OC's fate. This way they can feel things out on the first drive, make any needed adjustments, and if the OC has a clue, that is a guaranteed scoring drive. The DC is out the first time they give up 10+ points in the first half. Don't ever let that happen and they will have a job for life.

Probably not next year, bit they did sign some big boys. And a number of them... but everyone with a touch of perspective knows Jr's and srs (grown men) generally rule the lines, so in 3 years, we should be kicking butts/names...

I'll bite. Typically I'm overly negative so I can avoid jinxing us, and then be pleasantly surprised when/if I'm wrong. The Rose Bowl year I boldly predicted we'd go 6-7. It looks like as of late, that mojo has worn off, so maybe now I need to be positive? I don't know, but I can't possibly see how our OL could be any worse than last year. I'll take any improvement that I can get.

Is there a coordinator for that? Analyze the odds of winning the flip every game... statistician? Probably should get one and pay em like 100k a year to keep our secrets from the thieves down the road.
