Old farts: how old were your kids when you let them see a movie with boobs in it?

There's a lot more boobs in movies than when I was a kid.

Great question. Although she's seen my wife's boobs plenty of times. Let's go with TV and save the other conversation until she's 21.

My girls are 24 and 21 and I still haven’t given permission. I assume they’ve seen them. At what age I have no idea.

I feel less inclined to protect my daughter from the boobs, then the dudes ogling them. If it just shows boobs, then whatever. If it's boinking with boobs, uh not until high school.
(Then all bets are off since they will be doing adulty stuff anyway)

I mean, she's seen plenty of boobs. For example, we're watching the Illinois/Michigan game right now!

I hate giving parental advice because that has always implied I think I know what the hell is up. I don’t.

But one day my dad and I had my daughters for the day at my cottage. He told me one thing I’ll never forget (and your line of boys ogling boobs reminded me of this). He said, your daughters will allow themselves to be treated no better or no worse by boys than they see how you treat your wife daily. Pay attention to her, respect her, follow through what you say to her tell her you love her in front of them and your daughters will Probst find that type of person. No promises they do, but they watch everything you do.

It occurred to me he pretty much always did that with my mom. So long story short, my dad and mom went to see the longest yard with Burt Renolds. My brother and I asked if we could see it. He just told us the word fuck was used a lot and Reynolds makes out with a girl to get her to give him some game plans. Then asked if we could handle that. My brother said yes. I said “oh fuck yes”.

I think I was 8 or 9.

Now a days are boobs still a big deal? Junk I can see being a big deal. Too porny sex scenes are big deals... but with free the nip, etc. has the way they deal with bewbs changed?

I can't say but, I suspect, my daughter probably saw Phoebe Cates's boobs in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Jennifer Jason Leigh's, too, I reckon.. cabana scene by the pool) before I would've felt totally comfortable in admitting it.

(there is a law in our house.. any time Fast Times is on, nobody changes the channel until the credits are finished rolling).

and, for the record, boobs are boobs. 50% of the population has them. We were much more concerned with guns and violence as it relates to being age appropriate.
