from yesterday, I believe, in the LSJ. Don't want to dampen anyone's afternoon, but for those still trying to process what happened in February, this is a fairly extensive report of what the police is able to discern and put together.

Police said McRae only used the Taurus handgun in the attack. Based on shell casings recovered, McRae fired at least 18 shots at Berkey Hall and the MSU Union. Fourteen casings were found in Berkey and three in the Union. Another casing was found outside of the Human Ecology Building.

Police said McRae's Taurus was loaded with 14 rounds at the time it was recovered. The Hi-Point was loaded with 10 rounds. One extra loaded magazine for the Taurus was recovered in the chest pocket of his coat and 10 extra magazines for the Hi-Point were recovered in his backpack. McRae also had 136 rounds of loose ammunition in his backpack.

MI GOP are the same wackjobs who recently elbowed their way to let State of MI Representatives and Senators with CCP carry concealed weapons on the floor of their respective chambers.  They clam that they are at risk and need that protection.

One of those GOP is Rep Matt Maddock (MI 51) husband of former MI GOP Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock who’s been indicted in the Electoral College elector scheme.
He’s talked about Civil War and that mf’er can carry a gun in the state capitol.

Independent report released regarding actions taken by Michigan State University. For once it sounds like we did everything right. So I’m sure it’s not going to be a big story in the papers.

In the executive summary of the report, the organization said, "our overall assessment of the initial response (that is, in the seconds after the initial call and prior to other agencies mounting a response effort) by MSU police officers is that the response was appropriate, timely, and correct."

Rule #1 in reporting MSU news. If it’s good, bury the lead.

I'm still bothered by the fact that shoot was allowed to purchase guns legally and although neighbors complained to law enforcement about the shooter firing off multiple rounds in the yard at his father's home.  

According to law enforcement they couldn't intercede to take his weapons under current law.

the horrible night of the shooting, leading into the next morning, I never once second-guessed the way MSU handled the shooting. From the immediate emergency worker response, the shelter in place, the communication was seemingly constant. In fact, and I'm not gonna scroll back through this thread for a lot of reasons, but I almost remember them updating the community simply by saying "we don't have any new updates". They knew that disinformation spreads like wildfire and got out ahead of that the best they could with what they knew.

Dr. Woodruff was amazing. She was absolutely the right person to be the President of MSU that night and in the days and weeks to come.

I just read this entire thread and while it opened old wounds, it still made me proud to be a Spartan. Well done Swillers.

Hadnt seen this. Seems like a great place to have a seat on campus and gather yourself.
