Well, if Akins leaves there will be more concerns. Dude is the only one who even got close to slowing up that little shit on KState. Plus, i think his O is just scratching the surface. But as I said, a bunch of bench time for a ton of talent. My prediction is Fears gets less time next year then Hollomon did this year. No place for him.

I’m going to, just this once, defer to his knowledge over mine. Just this once.

If MSU is going to be great, Walker’s role is going to change. Akins will have more opportunities with the ball in his hands to create offense, rather than being mostly a spot-up shooter. That might have happened a year ago, if not for Akins’ foot injury. He has too much upside for MSU not to explore other areas of his game. Walker also isn’t likely to slide over to point guard as often if A.J. Hoggard finds foul trouble or struggles. Fears is too tantalizing a prospect to think he’s not going have the ball in his hands a fair bit. f Walker is open to all of this — and I assume these conversations have been had, because he’s coming back and Akins and Fears are a priority in MSU’s program — then this is a big day for the Spartans’ 2023-24 season. Because Walker, playing 28 minutes, in a three-man backcourt with Hoggard, Akins, Fears and perhaps Tre Holloman (who shouldn’t be forgotten) could give MSU the sort of guard play that overwhelms many of its opponents with its shooting, playmaking, depth and defense.“

What would really work is if MSU had a hugely athletic center who could run the floor for 40 minutes, be dead on from the three, be a defensive stopper and play the inside out game perfectly.

Or if they had two like this.

I didn’t say anything about Tyson. I’m thrilled he’s sticking around. Leadership and experience from the 1 & 2? Yes, please. All I said was I want Akins to stay. I think he’s, for want of a different way to say it, Izzo tough. No idea how expressing a desire to keep one player is interpreted by anyone as a slight toward another player.
