Spring game 2023

As of today, it looks like it's going to be in the low 70s. We rarely have a nice spring game.
Who's going?

I think we will be taking the girls. They did better than wr thought last year (although we set very low expectations), and it was freezing and snowing that day.

We'll be there. Last recruiting visit before kid two makes her decision on May 1st. Mel better put on a show.

That should be his defense. Precedence has been set. He was just following the Leaders and Best.

So he’d been suspended in late February for something else not yet reported, then dismissed after the gun charges occurred on St. Patty’s Day. AND he was in the diversion program for the umaa tunnel incident. I get that college age kids do stupid stuff; most of us did stupid stuff at that age, but he seems too clueless to understand 1) he’s already used up his second chances 2) a gun charge in EL only a month after a mass shooting on campus isn’t going to result in an easy out.

He made a much stronger statement than those clowns in ann arbor. And I don’t want to get too far ahead, but — depending on what else Tank has done that we don’t yet know about — MT might give him a chance to earn his way back onto the team somewhere down the road. But like I said, we don’t know all that’s transpired, so he might be gone for good.

This invalidates his sentence for the tunnel, aka keeping his nose clean during the probation period, which probably has something to do with his dismissal from the team.

Edit -adds some weight to Tucker"s comment about not having enough defensive linemen to run a spring game.

In the books at Hogwarts it went on all during the school year, though the professional "world cup" was just before school started.

It's a beautiful dayyyyyy for football (and freshman campus tour).

It took a while to rangle up the girls. We should be there in 30 minutes. I'm hoping we can find some lunch. Last year it was a pain in the ass, and it's going to be so much busier with the nicer weather. No place would let me make reservations (understandably).

Campus is a zoo. There is an admitted student event that has drawn a lot of kids/families, graduation, 5k, etc. Campus is bumping. Good luck finding a spot to park. Maybe try Kellogg or the hamster cage.

We were going to hit Crunchies but decided to pre-game at da kids apartment across from the Union. Ordering Canes.

Not this year.

I did walk down for a bit, then came home. I went on a long ride this morning and was dehydrated as hell. Too much seltzer + tequila last night on the deck in the sun. Coffee this morning.. halfway into a 75° ride (not yet acclimated to the relative heat) and was like "ugh".

Then it's "date night" tonight with my lovely wife, so I came home to chug water and rest.

We had to set the expectations very low for a 2 and 5 year old, but they did pretty good.
We ended up getting lunch no problem at harrisons. Then we parked the same place as last year, at the Erickson Hall parking lot. It's not too far of a walk to the stadium.
I don't know if it's a new thing or not, but we got to go on the field and get a picture with sparty and some cheerleaders. My 5 year old was in awe. But then they both freaked out by sparty and got scared.

We stayed until about 2:50. Then went to the international center to get a few things. Last stop was at Patriarche park for the girls to play a little.

It was a good day, and they're both passed out in the car now.

I don't want to post other face pics. But I liked this one with my girls always wanting their daddy.

Well, that has to be a good sign for the rest of the year. If not for football, at least for your family.

Bob’s contract was not renewed on account of his request for a 500% increase in his per diem. The Co9 voted unanimously not to enter into contractual discussions with him.
