Christmas... Projector or TV?
So... for the basement (generally darkish, one window).
Looks like you can get a pretty good projector for under $800... OR should I go with 65" (LG, Vizio?) probably closer to $1000.
Probably getting a Xbox 1 or PS4 with it for the kids.
Pros and cons.
What setup would be optimal for your mom's basement?
Tia.

I like my projector. Pros = bigger picture.
Cons = it's not going to be as bright, even if you get a really nice, high lumens unit. Still looks great, though. And bulbs will burn out after ~ 2-3k hours (despite what they tell you).

Plus you just sent me an e-mail last night bitching because you want a bigger screen since 102" isn't getting it done for you any longer.
I don't even know where you go from there so..........................

Projector is getting WBH "all stretched out" and he needs it bigger?
Seriously, Any pros or cons on the video games between the two?

I've got a projector. Epson8350. Love it for sports and movies. I don't play too many video games, but games like FIFA and NHL have always seemed smoother on my 42" Vizio than the projector. Just my $.02

If your kids aren't super videophile snobs who are going to notice a very slight blur/pixelation during fast action sequences due to refresh rate, a projector is great for video games.

Get both. $1800 isn't that much.
