MSU @ ND hoops tonight

7:30pm EST, ESPN 2 I think.

Izzo has always wanted to play ND, right? He's going to care about this one. MSU by 6.

ND two point favorite. If MSU hits some threes we will win. Went cold vs KU that game was ours.

I fully expect MSU to lose this one. Still trying to figure out our rotation, getting Dawson back healthy and maybe Ellis. This is our 3rd/4th game on a National stage and we're playing ND. Ho hum. ND will be hyped to get a semi "down" big program like MSU in their building on a big stage. We are going to look tired tonight off of the tourney trip to Orlando and playing 3 games in 4 days. One day off, travel to ND. I'd guess we lose by 7-10.

Playing 3 games in 4 days? Come on. These guys play 5 games a day sometimes in AAU ball. They ain't tired.

It's early but kind of a must win game.

This will be another KU...MSU will play well enough to win but unfortunately fuckin ND will by 6-8. SMH

I think that's true, except he'd prefer it being a home & home series rather than a one-off as part of the ACC Challenge.

Hell, Jud tried for years to set up the home/home but ND always wanted one at home and the other at a neutral site.

I have the claim to fame of being at the last ND game in 79. Didn't realize we didnt play them once since.

We really need this win from our fan pysche mode right now. Otherwise we are shit until we have a chance to prove otherwise in conference play.

If you are too young to remember this, just watch the opening tip...explains why Digger hates MSU, ND won't play MSU, and why it is one of the greatest opening tips in the history of the NCAA Tournament, especially since it was done in the semi-final game.  ND had a loaded lineup...the likes of Bill Laimbeer, Kelly Tripucka, Bill Hanzlik, and Orlando Woolridge....and got smoked by Magic, Kelser, Brkovic, et. al.

I'm impressed with the effort tonight. Did not expect us to be in a position to steal this one due to some of the factors I mentioned above. This team will be fine.

But you know losing games against big names early hurts seeding, makes the road much tougher.

I mean, Iowa just beat Carolina.

It is going to be tough to be over .500 in the Big Ten and with a bad nonconference we won't make the tournament. I actually like this team but that is the reality of the situation.
