Just so SpartanNH will see that we do care about Spartan Sports:

It's exhausting just listening to MSU players talk about this week's bowl practices – sounds like Damion Terry and Tyler O'Connor are basically throwing bombs every other play or so as they alternate between taking second-team offense reps and scout-team reps. Those two are combining to emulate Baylor's Bryce Petty. It's the most they can do for this team until one of them succeeds Connor Cook in 2016.

MSU is going as high-tempo as possible to emulate the Bears, and it's obvious the coaching staff is going to rotate defensive players liberally in the Cotton Bowl, after watching the regulars get gassed late in the Sept. 6 loss at Oregon. The game, less than two weeks away now, is the focus. But bowl practices also provide a little "showtime."

That's what Mark Dantonio calls the scrimmages that allow MSU's younger players to make impressions. Some of them are redshirting freshmen, some are active players with secondary roles. Here are 10 guys, at various stages and in alphabetical order, who could become primary in 2015:

I'm going to be particularly interested seeing how Madaris and Enoch Smith Jr do in the spring and into next fall.

Sounds like our O Line could be one of the best in the B1G, if not the nation. I'm worried about the D line though. Losing Rush is going to be bigger than Calhoun IMO. I wonder if Scott is going to get playing time next year. Dantonio won't let WR or RB play if they don't block, and freshmen a lot of times don't seem to understand that. I did like what they said about rotating D players in and out. Sometimes you just have to trust that the backups can play and this coaching staff seems to use more of the philosophy of only playing the best man at the position.

Throwing bombs in practice? Does that mean our secondary is going to get lit up in 2 weeks?

I'm real curious about who steps up at DE and CB next year. I think the offense will be fine, especially since Cook is seemingly coming back, but replacing Rush and likely Waynes is going to be a tall task. Those two have been so good for us over the years.

Interesting. I think we should all tweet @ Joe and ask him for updates on Arnett.

I want to see Demetrius Cooper in the bowl game a lot. I know both of those guys are awfully good but it looked a lot to me like Rush and Calhoun were playing too many downs and getting gassed. Did they not trust Cooper? I saw him a bit at the end of the season more and he played well.

Damn, I can't wait for this game to happen. Then, I'll go through withdrawl and depression till March Madness. Oh, I'll try to watch the last half of our bball games, but Im just not a huge fan of regular season basketball. If Michigan loses to teams like NJIT and Eastern, they should be excluded from consideration from the tournament no matter how many games they win. If you lost those games in football it would be more than devastating.

Regular season Bball is great. It will be interesting seeing how the conference works out this year, now that its been watered down.

With all the noise about D. Cooper last offseason, I expected to see more of him this season, and really expected him to make Rexrode's top 10 list for next season.

He was barely mentioned.

I am going to guess they didn't trust him because he needs work on helping to defend the run. I remember reading that he's a fierce pass-rusher, but isn't someone they can put in every down because he needed to work on defending the run.

Who is going to be the 2nd corner for this bowl game?
Is Lippett even an option with this fast pace?
I would have said Cox but that article says he is staying at safety so I guess that means back to Hicks.
I think corner will be the most critical position next year. Tough to replace two lock down corners in two years. We already had trouble replacing the first one and now we will have zero. Unfortunately no way to really go but down when you are talking about replacing the top two corners in MSU history.

Matt Sokol as a big punishing tight end is something I want to see again. Price is great, but I want to see a guy that will run over people again.

Price is not "great". The TE spot can use an upgrade.
