Dude is turning into a fucking bitch.

I used to read his shitty articles and think, ehhhh, that was OK. Now he's getting all pissed off and retaliating on social media and engaging the haters because he can't handle criticism. What a thin skinned fuckwad. How do you get to where he is and start pulling this shit?

Don't mistake me here, this isn't about anything that he writes about actual sports, it's about him being a pussy and getting all bitchy with the readers. He is turning into Jerry Fucking Springer.

He's writing the same way he has for the last decade.

Joe's had a charmed life for what he does. Covered MSU sports for the State News as a student. Right time/right place and he got a job covering MSU for the LSJ. The Freep had some personnel changes and he got the MSU beat writer job for them. Through all those job changes he's been able to live in the Lansing area and cover MSU.

I think he gets sick of the Blue Wall accusations. In his mind nothing has changed. He still lives in the Lansing area and still covers MSU like he has since he started writing for the State News

He was in the seat behind me on the way back from Lincoln/Omaha last weekend... I tilted my seatback as far as I could... fuck that guy

I realize all this. The thing that is totally turning me off is that he is going all bitch on people and acting like he deserves a damn pass when he writes something stupid just cuz. If he just ignored all the static, I could TOTALLY respect that. But he is letting it get to him which tells me that maybe he doesn't totally believe everything he's putting on paper, or, he's just a thin skinned dipshit like most everyone out there.

Regardless, the fact that he is engaging hater fans cuts his credibility and my desire to seek out his work in half at the very least. He is starting to head down a road that will take him into Drew Sharp troll hack territory in no time.

The thing is, IMO, Joe does a good job covering his MSU beat. He's pretty straightforward in his coverage. The problem is, we all want an opinion writer who bleeds green and pleads our case the way all the Detroit papers do for um. We don't have anybody like that to stand up for us and scream bloody murder when we get crapped on by shitty calls by the refs. I think that's why I loved Jemelle Hill's epic outburst after the game in Ann Arbor. She said things I've waited decades to hear somewhere other than sports messages boards or in family and neighborhood convos.

He definitely needs to skip reading Twitter if he can't handle the back and forth. To be fair, he's just a guy like the rest of us, and he has a breaking point, too. Also, I don't need or want him to be a sunshine optimist. But when there are obvious disparities in things like, for example, poor officiating that negatively affects MSU, or a laughable imbalance in coverage of the state's two most notable college coaches, if like to see him (or someone) call those things, too, but those examples are also easily seen.

I'm ready to just unfollow him and write him off. Same with Graham Couch. GC wrote some shit article prior to the season about MSU football, I clicked and read about three sentences and two of them mentioned Harbaugh, so I bailed and told him it was shit on twitter.
