You're in school now, right? Basically you have no concious memory of a time in which MSU wasn't in the tournament thanks to Izzo.

Someday, he is going to be gone and there is a great chance we will experience some down years. I'm not talking 21-11, 7-seed in the tournament "down years." I'm talking 17-15 and watching NIT games down. I know this because every other mortal coach experiences seasons like this except for Tom Fuckin Izzo.

I'm saying this because when that time comes, you will slap yourself for having thought this type of year was a bad one, and for ever suggesting MSU might be better off without TFI.

I don't know. I just see MSU basketball as a way to make the football offseason go faster and honestly prefer MSU hockey and football by a wide margin. I'd like to see us do well, but I don't think Izzo is right for today's day and age of college basketball.

He's great, but man, I think that having someone more "modern" would do us more good at a cheaper price.

MSU loses games in the early and mid point of the season.

A bunch of posters say Izzo is washed up, the game has passed him by, etc.

Izzo proves them wrong in March.

Those posters eat their crow and say that they'll never question Izzo again, he gets a lifetime pass, etc.

Within 2-3 years, the same posters are saying the same shit after early or mid-season losses.

Rinse. Repeat.

Not saying that OTPT was saying this before (maybe he was, I don't know), but many go through this same cycle every few years. Don't be one, OTPT. Comp has a great phrase that most perfectly describes Izzo teams in the regular season: "30 games to get your crap together". Live it, learn it, embrace it, and you'll have a much less stressful time during the regular season.
