Fascinating that SpaceX is going to try land the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean.  If they can ever perfect the process, then bingo, reusable rocket.

"Developing a fully and rapidly reusable rocket is a key priority for SpaceX and its billionaire founder, Elon Musk, who has said that such technology could cut the cost of spaceflight by a factor of 100."

Finally got it off the ground this morning, sounds like the landing of the first stage on the seaport almost worked.

Rocket made it to drone spaceport ship, but landed hard. Close, but no cigar this time. Bodes well for the future tho.

Didn't get good landing/impact video. Pitch dark and foggy. Will piece it together from telemetry and ... actual pieces.
