Tell me about Denver, CO

Anyone been there? Experiences?

Looking to move there after school.

It's a big city. Traffic is horrible. It's fun though. Lot's to do. There are a lot of pretentious assholes there who fancy themselves Mountaineers. All in all, there are much worse places to live, but if you're all about the front range, I'd look in some of the other areas down I-25. CO Springs is nice, I lived there for 2 years. Well, just outside of C.S. in Manitou.

Good dope is readily available.

I hear they legalized the marijuana.

Oh yeah.... there's pot too. Go soon because it's about to get a lot more expensive when the neighboring states start suing CO for the increased law enforcement costs related to pot finding it's way across the borders on all sides. That cost will have to be passed on to the consumer.

Hmmm. States can just sue eachother when they dont like laws passed in other states?

When something is illegal in a bordering state is not being properly controlled and is causing that state to have to increase enforcement without the corresponding revenue? Yes.

So are people buying legal pot in CO then transporting it to the bordering states for illegal distribution?

Oh God yes. And just bringing it to a bordering state, even for personal use is illegal.

Why would they do that when they can get some of the revenues from CO without having to?

How would they be able to lock people up and confiscate their money if they legalized it?

Housing is way more expensive than Michigan.

I've got a friend that regularly makes a trip back and forth to Colorado. He makes sure he never has any marijuana with him because he regularly gets stopped and searched in Nebraska. The first time he got stopped he spent 30 days in jail. They're probably making a bundle of cash targeting people passing through.

Good weather, good schools, fun happy people, property is reasonable, tons to do, great beer, legal weed, tons of sports . . . we like it here. Lots of Spartans alums too - great crowds for big games downtown.

Enforcement generally costs a lot more than what the courts can recoup. These aren't just tickets. These are arrests, housing prisoners, processing, court costs. In the end it's rarely a money maker for the state.

Yet they still keep arresting people for possessing the evil weed. You'd think they would learn.

It sounds perfect. Too perfect. Any negatives? What areas downtown or close would you recommend? For people right out of college?
