NASA May Have Accidentally Created a Warp Field

Time is a flat circle.

So wait, rocket scientists were actually working on creating impulse power and they accidentally stumbled on warp drive? I guess this is how all great discoveries are made. Zephram Cochran would be proud.

That's awesome. I remember reading about the RF drives a while ago and that people were skeptical of how it would actually propel something

Theoretically, space is contracted in front of the field & expanded behind it, resulting in movement. The Starship Enterprise rides inside the field. There's a diagram if you follow the link.

Well the pressure of your hand on the water creates a "low spot" in the water.  If you took your hand away, would the water stay that way?  No.  It would return to a normal flat surface.  The energy of the water returning to it's normal state could carry a teeeny tiny boat forward a little bit.  Like this:

Now imagine the teeny tiny boat had an engine that could create that ripple that your hand made all by itself. The boat could "warp" the water so that the wave would carry it forward.
