The NFL is Dropping its Tax Exempt Status...
The NFL is dropping its tax-exempt status. Why that ends up helping them out
The league’s 2013 tax filing revealed that, besides Goodell’s $44 million, six other executives drew seven-figure salaries and 298 employees made $100,000 or more.

How the hell were they tax exempt in the first place? That is asinine. Also, and I guess I knew this part, but Roger Goddell making $44 million? Get the fuck outta here with that shit. Who even approves that?

He's a lap dog for the billionaire owners, he does their bidding. And the NFL generates about $10B a year, so there's plenty to go around.

I believe the NFL operated as a 501c6 as opposed to the more familiar 501c3. 501c6 organizations are considered trade associations that simply represent their (often for profit) membership. An example would be the Chamber of Commerce. To be honest, the NFL's non-profit status was always on shaky ground because it never really seemed to fit 501c6 status. Yeah...I don't know the answer to your question.

From now on they won't have to reveal how much anyone is paid. Might be one of the reasons they're dropping their tax exempt status.
