WOW internet blows

Cable is fine but internet has gone out a number of times since the 4th. It's been out since at least noon today. Not sure how big the outage area is. Calls to them get an automated message saying "Michigan" with no time projected for when it will be fixed.

Have been with them over 10 years but I've had it with the clowns.

I called them. Waited on hold for a long time. Really need service tomorrow. 

Long story short, they are having DNS issues. Server not responding. Has been down since 9:28 this AM. They thought they had it fixed at 6:30 tonight momentarily, but everything went back down. They have no idea when it will be fixed. They will have techs working all night or until it is. They have been doing upgrades over the past couple of weeks which have caused the other outages, but this problem is unrelated (cough, BULLSHIT, cough cough). I asked the CSR if she had to guess if I would be up and running for my meetings in the AM and she did not sound confident. 

I have already gotten $25/off for a year, but that was before this debacle. Once we're back up I'm going to be asking them to pay my mortgage.

They are tweeting that they are experiencing DDOS attacks. Bullshit.

Switch to Google DNS. 8.8.8.8 We did that the last time Wow crapped out. Had no problems today.

Try opendns. 4.2.2.2 If that doesn't work, I dunno dude.

This fixed the DNS problems for me about 10 days ago when they first started. Something else has been going on all weekend and continues this morning. Internet access is very laggy and sometimes just completely drops.

If you need emergency internet access then tether off your cell phone. You may need to have your cell service provider enable tethering and you may hqve to pay a monthly fee. I pay ATT for tethering, which I think sucks - I should be able.to use my data plan as I see.fit, but that's a different discussion...

Seems we're back up this morning. Held up through my 9 AM and 10 AM conf calls. Keeping fingers crossed. 

I was tethering last night. I'm rooted so it's free.
