Help out a novice Swiller

I got a couple of basic user questions. Couldn't find the answer in the FAQs.

1. How do I quickly find threads I've posted in?  Do I have to click "follow topic"? Or is there an icon like on the RCMB?
2. The little red circles to the left of each topic heading - some are scrolling up while others are a static image. What's the difference? Does that just indicate current activitity?
3. I was told that foul language is allowed here, but apparently some words aren't. What is, and what ain't??

Can we lift the ban on the four letter f word? It is the last remaining similarity between the two places. And it needs to be broken.
