Does that mean the earth is going to text me titty pics? 'cuz a woman I know did that to me one time when she was manic.
I'd be down with earth porn, btw.
i don't know if the earth sends them like that, exactly. why don't you forward me the pic and i can compare and contrast.

Maybe no one talks about Popeye's where you live, but it's pretty popular out here.

Holy shit I lose my mind over rally's. Can't ever say no to two apple pies for a dollar. Fries are great. Burgers are great. I love that place.
That said, probably go once a year. Not a fast food junkie.

Haven't been to a crawfish boil yet, there's a Mardi Gras parade going past my apartment Saturday and I think I might look around and see what I can find.
Red beans and rice is one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. That shit is fantastic. Gumbo is awesome too. Love those dishes.
However, most everything else down here is fried to hell and covered in a heavy cream sauce or served with fries.
I cite raising canes chicken fingers as my prime example. People go bananas for it and I can't figure out why.

I recently had a stripper in Reno rave about Popeyes to me for 20 minutes. I've never been but she was very convincing.

Lord, I haven't had a Tubbys in forever. If we include local chains I still like an occasional Big John's Steak, Mushroom & Onion. I get one of those maybe once every 12-18 months.

Re: The best fast food restaurant no one talks about
There was a Tubby's location about 2 miles away. Thought my eyes were playing tricks on me a few months ago when the sign at the strip center it was located in read "Chubby's", in the same font as Tubby's. Later discovered that particular Tubby's was relocating across 16 Mile/Metro Parkway/Big Beaver in a new strip center under construction. Looks a month or two from opening.LooseGoose wrote:The Pantry wrote:Tubby's better than all of them. Mushroom, steak & cheese is awesome.

It's on the way home from work but have not stopped at Chubby's (a sub shop, near as I can tell driving by). Might do that tomorrow to check out their menu and inquire what the sign font thing is about.

I haven’t had half the places listed. I have a guilty pleasure for Panda Express. It’s fucking horrible for you, but that orange chicken is damn tasty.
I forgot about fazolis. I wish there was one in metro Detroit. But usually when I go visit my mom in Jackson, I stop by there and take some home.

No, I love Popeye's. I just mean that I can't eat that shit often. When I eat fried chicken I feel like shit for a week.
I actually like KFC's nashville hot. I've never had real Nashville hot chicken, I bet that would be the shit. Maybe I'll try some in 2019.

dude, you know I dig you..LooseGoose wrote:Turtleneck wrote:I know Loose's answer. He drives to Indiana for Popeye's.
Popeye's has the best chicken and it's not even close. I consider myself somewhat of a national expert on fast food based on 2008--2012. For that 4-5 years I was on the road with one of my sons for 3 weeks or more a month and we basically existed on fast food.
So unlike the amateurs that "watch some film" on HS players and think they see things highly paid coaches miss the following is based on real experience.
Best overall menu:
1) Carl's Jr/Hardees
2) Jack in the Box
3) Steak N Shake
Best Chicken:
1) Popeyes
2) Church's
3) Lee's Famous
4) Bojangles
5) KFC
Best Fish:
1) Culvers
2) SOME Long John Silvers, for example the one in North Platte, NE is good. The one in Huntington Beach, CA sucks.
3) CaptainD's
Mexican:
Del Taco, Taco Time, Taco Bell, Taco John's - I don't care much for any of them.
Most Overrated:
1) In and Out - it's ok but jesus people get a hold of yourselves.
.
.
.
.
.
.
2) Whattaburger
3) ChickaFila
McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's etc were hit only when you were in BFE and there were no other choices.
but how are you still alive?

People that know far more about my younger years have often asked that question. I did my best to off myself.
Now I don't smoke. Drink about 6 beers a year. Have fast food perhaps 3-4 times a year. Haven't ingested any illicit substance other
than pot smoke for well over a decade now, maybe 2.....
And most importantly I drink all the raw milk and honey I can acquire. I'm damn near the model of health.
Our typical day during the "road years" = 7am eat drive through breakfast - load or unload something - eat drive through lunch - drive 700 miles - unload or load something - get to go food and eat it in the motel room - pass out. Rinse, repeat. We were making good $$ but it got old quick.

Way, way back in the day, they opened a Popeyes on Grand River across the street from my apartment, I loved that shit, though it is a heart attack on a plate.
Recently tried Arby's brisket sandwich and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, and curly fries.

After driving 150,000 miles a year for that stretch I'll wager I've not driven 2,000 miles in a year since. I probably average 10-20 miles a week now.

Arby's curly fries are pretty good. The curly fries at Hardees are even better. Similar seasoning but have more crispiness to them.I.B. The driving occurred after I had pretty much retired. As detailed on here before my I helped my sons start a business delivering motorcycles around the country. We had a lot of fun, saw mass quantities of the country, met tons of nice people but burned out on being gone all the time. By the time they were 25 they'd been in every state except AK/HA multiple times. After 4-5 years the bloom was off that rose, they wanted to get married, etc and being on the road 20-25 days a month is no good for that.
It was during that time period I missed my chance for stardom - we met the Barry and the auctioneer from Storage Wars and they thought we'd be great for a new show they were doing. We were actually contacted the people that eventually did "Shipping Wars" but both of the sons said Nada - they were done with the driving. In retrospect I'm kind of happy since the show they did sucked.
My major was Accounting/Business and I really didn't have a "most" of my career. Over a 20 year period I did 6 startups in some pretty diverse areas including real estate, networking, food processing and more. I tend to get bored easily so was/am always looking for the next thing to do. I know it's hard to believe with how much I'm around here but I still dabble in 2-3 things to make a little extra $$.

Same here. But a good 50-75% of my work day involves driving. I hate that part . But it’s a good paying job with good benefits, so I can’t complain much.

When I was a kid, our family would go to Arthur Treacher's on Michigan Avenue, just west of US-127 near the Lansing/EL border. Decades later, Treacher's is gone but they're still there selling fish-n-chips. IDK if it ever closed or ever sold anything else, but it's been the same menu as far back as I can recall.

Not many LJS locations still around here either. None within 10 miles. Fortunately there are a few local places with fish-n-chips and/or fried shrimp on the menu.
