Help me understand this Cuba thing

Honestly, I'm trying to understand both sides of the issues, but I'm struggling. Help me out here...

Is Cuba's human rights record worse than China's or Saudi Arabia's? We don't seem to have any problem doing business (A LOT OF BUSINESS) with those countries, so why is Cuba different? Seems to me that the only ones suffering from the embargo are the Cuba people.

The silent treatment hasn't work for a half-century, so more silent treatment will somehow do the trick? Is that the Republican "plan"? Sounds like the definition of insanity. The Castros certainly don't appear to be any worse for the wear.

Just seems like it might be time to try this different approach.
