13. Michigan State Spartans

Middle Tennessee's shocking win over Michigan State not only ended Denzel Valentine's career, but also those of Matt Costello and Bryn Forbes, both core to the Spartans' rebounding and perimeter scoring success. Replacing those three guys might mean taking a half-step back, at least early in the season, especially if forward Deyonta Davis, a late lottery projection, decides to stay in the draft. Even if guard Eron Harris is the only returning starter, though, Tom Izzo's 2016 class might be his best ever. He'll get them settled in soon enough.

Probably, but we are in the elite-lite group with Nova and Florida so we get dinged a bit.

The highest I'd put us at is #60.

I wonder if Mr. March will sit Jackson against a 16 seed next year. Do we have any walkon medical professionals on the team next year that should get minutes over NBA 1st rounders?

Duke is #1. They have a good class coming in, and some pretty good players coming back.
Kentucky is #3. They have a better class coming in.

If Davis leaves, it seems like we'd be a little thin in the frontcourt. My guess is the ranking is based on him leaving.

Davis should stay. Mr. March needs him on the bench while MTSU is taking us to the woodshed.

FYI: MSU was ranked 24th in the Way Too Early Rankings last year (2015-2016), and then 13th in the preseason polls.

UNC was 3.
Villanova was 6.
