Ross Stripling. I needed to look up his name again to make sure I got it correct.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/15167667/st-louis-cardinals-three-pinch-hit-home-runs-set-mlb-record-win-atlanta-braves
The St. Louis Cardinals became the first team in major league history to record three pinch-hit home runs in a game in their 7-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Friday at Turner Field.
The Cardinals had four pinch-hit home runs all of the previous season.
Asked how hard it is to hit a pinch-hit home run, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, who never hit one in his 13-year major league career, said, "I personally wouldn't know how hard, but they sure made it look easy today."

yeah, I would hate to be the manager there. But you can't leave it to the kid. He'll say lets go. It's a tough decision that cost them a game. But I probably would have done the same thing. (Damn, I really don't know, maybe I wouldn't have). Kid is what, like 24? If for some reason, he pitches #110 and blows out his Tommy John Surgery, the manager looks like a monster and we're all saying "I would have pulled him at 100".

Biggest fallacy of baseball fans is they always assume the other option was the right call.

Pitchers, doctors, agents, managers, and GM's would all be on board with a pitch count for a kid who already had Tommy John surgery.
2 Sophomores at our high school have already had it.

Sophomores? Jesus. My nephew is a sophomore. He has a great pitching coach in the winter who has increased speed and accuracy and won't let him throw curves.

One had it as a Freshman. Both play pretty high level travel ball (and probably have since they were 8 or 9). Arms aren't built to take that kind of use.
Probably 4-5 soccer and lacrosse kids have had knee injuries in the last year. Some pretty major. AD wants to have Under Armor rep take a look at our field and make recommendations for cleat length.

Vin Scully started broadcasting Dodgers games in 1950. The Manager of that team was Connie Mack who was born DURING THE CIVIL WAR.

After him who is left of the old school announcers? Marty Brenneman, The Hawk aka Ken Harrelson, Fred White. After that I can't think of too many.

We've reached this must-win crisis point for the Twins & Braves.: If they both lose today, it will be the first time two teams started 0-9 in the same year since the 1884 Detroit Wolverines & Altoona Mountain City both did it.

Wrong. 1988 Orioles & Braves. O's 0-21, Braves 0-10.

Re: 2016 General MLB Thread
For Rule 5 Draft Picks, PEDs Pay Way Too Well
McKirahan ended up blowing out his elbow in spring training, needed Tommy John surgery and will spend the entire 2016 season on the Braves’ 60-day disabled list. As such, he’ll earn his major league minimum salary. So McKirahan will make roughly $750,000 in 2015 and 2016. And he’ll have a year and a half of major league service time.
If McKirahan had not been picked in the Rule 5 draft and had spent the past two seasons in the minor leagues, he would have likely made less than $25,000 over those two seasons.
Yes, he does have the carry some stigma from being caught for PEDs, but a $725,000 swing financially salves some of those wounds. The financial incentives to take a PED are massive.

100th Career HR.
At 23 years, 181 days old, @Bharper3407 is the 8th-youngest player in MLB history to hit 100 HR.
