Chances = blown. Wish them the best, but Coach D is clear about his expectations. Some people just don't want to hear it.

That's just something we say to make ourselves feel better. The reality is that we played with fire with the Evans, and we got burned.
Time to downgrade that recruiting class.

Nah... just being a realist. Dudes that aren't willing to put in the work and play by the rules aren't going to amount to much. Later bros.
How did we play with fire with Evans?

Wish i had been wrong but i'll give myself a half-pat on the back. I assumed Sweat was doing fine, just thought it was weird that Evans wasn't there.NigelUno wrote:Tim Wakefield wrote:Shit. Evans had potential to be all-conference.

lolz... who cares about 'crooting class rankings? Especially after the fact? Does Auburn and Ole Miss go back and adjust their rank after kids jump off to prep school because they can't qaulify, get kicked of the team, etc.?[/quote]

For someone who doesn't follow football recruiting, how did we get burned on Evans?
Downgrade the recruiting class? Does that like mean I go back in my official msu coach hand book and drop dantonio a letter grade under the recruiting section for '12 then email him to let him know I did?

Re: Evans and Sweat are gone.
"After the fact" is exactly when you SHOULD care about recruiting classes. They all look good on signing day, but it don't mean shit on signing day, does it?
As for Evans, think back. I'm sure you'll recall some red flags, Even if you don't follow recruiting. (If you're a regular poster on an MSU message board, chances are you do follow recruiting, at least a little bit. You like to think that you're above it, but you're not.)

Right.... and you realize that we been to Rose, Cotton, etc. Should we re-rank those classes to make us feel good? Most classes have a lot of attrition, especially SEC classes that everyone jerks off to on signing day. Not sure I see the point of that exercise. After the Rose Bowl win, I didn't re-rank recruiting classes. I double fisted beers in Pasadena.

I really don't know. I think he was a wisconsin commit? but ok, don't really care enough to go looking. oh well. some other big black dude will come in and dominate instead. cool with me.

I admittedly follow it. But I don't get worked up over it. You'll blast this comment like my previous one, but I want kids that want to be Spartans and willing to work over stars. Evans and Sweat apparently don't fall into that category. Every class on every team is going to have those have potential that don't come through. Oh well, move on.

Recruiting classes can only be re-ranked lower, never higher in Vlad's world.

I think Sweat was the lowest ranked recruit we signed that year. Taking him out of the class would probably make it better (in the recruiting rankings world). Did he ever play?
Not sure how we got burned with Evans either. He helped us win a Big Ten Championship. Got some new kids coming in that will get a great chance to play.

You don't have to. All you have to do is be a regular poster on a message board. All that stuff is brought to you, all in one place.

Try the "SpartansXtra" app. You can read the same story three times there - once from the Freep, again from The News, and for good measure a third time from the LSJ.

I actually do feel bit bad for the newspaper industry. I'm not sure what the answer is for them but, clearly, there are so many avenues out there for people to get their news, sports, etc.

So Vlad, since you're pretty worked up about me not knowing Evans' baggage, how would I know anything about it?
I don't go on rcmb. This is the only board I post on. So I would have to go into the crootin thread, click one of gooses links, give a fuck to actually take in what some croot retweeter has to say about a guys ceiling.
Not trying to Nigel you, but it seems like you don't really know what the fuck you are talking about either.
