I fucking love the the Derby. Watch every year and have bet it pretty regularly too.

Grabbing Gun Runner (5) at 10-1

Gonna box Nyquist (13) at 3-1 with Gun Runner for the exacta.

The problem with the Derby is they let in too many goddamned horses.

Holy NASCAR wreck in the Woodford. That was nasty.

Checked the Derby off the bucket list last year and would definitely do it again. Dwags is Derby vet and gave me some tips. Ended up getting tickets in the first box under the canopy, definitely worth the extra $$ to stay out of the sun. Also had great people watching being in front of the main aisle. Tickets get more expensive as you get closer to the finish/turn 1, but I would definitely buy our box again.

Not a lot of $ to be made today - odds are so short on the two best horses: Nyquist and Exaggerator. Even an exacta with those two is gonna pay shit. Might have to go with a trifecta. Thinking about throwing the one horse, Cherry Wine, at 20-1 into the third slot.

Some race jock was talking about this horse on Friday. He said the trainer rarely enters the Preakness. He took that as a sign that Stradivari "must be kicking the barn doors down".
