Should we make all bathrooms/locker rooms unisex? Empty Should we make all bathrooms/locker rooms unisex?

Post by Gomer 2016-05-12, 21:23

Seems to me the easiest way to solve the problem of gender issues. I know chicks that have no problem going in the mens' room when the line is long. I'm sure there are gay guys checking out my ass at the urinal (NTTAWWT). I've even had some chick hockey players that have no problems changing with the guys.

So what's the BFD? Just put a sign on the door that says "bathroom" and be done with it.

The problem is that you said there is a problem that needs to be solved. There isn't one. Everything was fine. North Carolina decided to make some law about it for no reason that solves no problems because none existed.

So, in other words, whatever.

Like most things if everybody would just shut the fuck up and go about their business we wouldn't have to deal with stupid shit like this. We don't need to be carving out special bathroom rights for the 0.01% of the population.

99.99% of the goddamned country has a penis or a vagina and seems quite content to live their lives out in that constraint.

However there are some seriously disturbed people out there who feel that they weren't "assigned" (was there a sorting hat involved - please tell me there was a sorting hat) the proper sex at birth. So they think they should live their lives as a different sex.

To which I say What the Fuckever Dude - just use the stall and keep your goddamned mouth shut but we don't need to codify your bathroom preferences into motherfucking law.

In the case of North Carolina, the liberal city council of Charlotte decided they would make a big deal out of "gender equality" and bathrooms after the State Government warned them that they would take a giant shit on them if they did. Charlotte raised their middle finger and passed their ordinance. The state stepped and rushed through HB2 so it would preempt the Charlotte ordinance before it went into effect.

Then you get PayPal pulling out of NC billing center but yet has billing center in Malaysia where it's crime to be gay.

You have Bryan Adams canceling a show less than a month after he played Egypt and within 5 years of playing Dubai where being gay is punishable by death.

Now the bullshit thing about the coverage of HB2 and NC is that the City of Houston did the exact same thing last year via a popular vote and where was the fucking outrage over that?

A recent survey put it at around 700,000. Given the warm welcome they receive from the community, must aren't to keen to admit it, even anonymously. So it's probably even higher than that.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this entire uproar get started by a CA attorney and ALEC as a way to GOTV for Conservatives? ALEC started writing bills in state houses, which generated media coverage and scrutiny, as well as prompting several state boards of education to consider policies.

I'm off to bed but I'll try to find some info tomorrow.

People who support the NC law and the like generally support their position by saying that they're worried about biologically male people going into bathrooms and violating our wives/daughters/etc. Many of the people employing this line of thought are the same people who say that gun free zones only stop law abiding citizens from carrying guns.

Setting aside the merit of this argument vis-a-vis gun free zones, doesn't the same logic dictate that only law abiding people will use the bathroom corresponding to their biological gender, while the predators will disregard the signs and carry on with their fuckery?

Moreover, I've not seen anyone put forth credible evidence that transgendered people are more likely to commit assaults than are cisgendered (is that the right word? I can't keep all this shit straight) people.

And if people are worried about someone using the bathroom of the gender to which they are sexually attracted, wouldn't it follow that gay man should HAVE to use the women's room and lesbians should HAVE to use the men's room?

Over 40 percent of transgendered people attempt suicide. I'd say that qualifies as seriously disturbed.

Look you youngsters when 99.99 percent of people do one thing it's considered normal. So the 0.01 percent are by definition abnormal.

Diversity is not strength. Not everyone is special. The society as a whole should not have to bend to the desires of a few.

And like I said I personally don't care if some sick fuck wants to cut off his penis and then have an open wound mascarading as a vagina for the rest of his life. Nor do I care if Roberta is suddenly Rob.

Use the bathroom you need to / use the stall and keep your goddamned mouth shut. We don't need to codify your bulshit.

My wife started asking me how I felt about all of this. I said I really didn't care. She countered with asking me how I would feel when our daughter turns 9. I asked her what that had to do with anything. I don't know where she got this, but she asked if I would be worried about a man in the women's bathroom who might assault her, or watch her. I'm like, WTF?!? AFAIK, transgendered people aren't looking to cause problems in the bathroom. I'm not sure I convinced, her, but I said, if its an issue, I'll just have to take her with me into the men's bathroom, at which point is not really different than having a transgendered in the women's bathroom.

Do transgendered people just hang out in bathrooms trying to cause problems?

Has this ever happened? I'm just awfully naive I guess, of the thousands of times I've used public bathrooms, that I've never seen this happen or paid attention I guess. Is it some sort of epidemic?

We don't need a law to accommodate the bathroom preferences of 0.01% of the population. That's my issue.

Don't ask/don't tell and just use the fucking stall because it's not like there are any urinals in the ladies room and in the men's room it's not like they will be able to squat over a urinal.

It's not an epidemic. However, in my mind it falls into the category, if it just happened once, would you be upset? If that one time, it was your daughter in the room, would you be upset?

I dont' have an answer here, and I certainly don't want to be responsible for psychologically damaging any transgendered person. I wonder though, if we balance it out, what is the greatest good we can do for the greatest amount of people in our society? Would one transgendered person become psychologically hurt if we made them go into a bathroom that is for their genitals, or would many people possibly be psychologically hurt if we let one transgendered person go into a public bathroom that serves many?

My daughters graduating high school class is about 400 or so. I asked her today if this is a big problem at her school. I framed it in the form of "How many transgendered people are there actually in a school your size?" She told me I'd be surprised at how many there are. So, she was right, I'm surprised. And I don't have an answer to this, but it's something that America gets to be in a tizzy over. Yippie. For me, I'll whip it out and piss in front of anyone anywhere if I have to. Except maybe my mom, sister and daughters. Everyone else is fair game.

I don't really get the "turning 9" qualification. You hear about enough fuckheads that mess with girls younger than that. That's hardly when a pedo's attraction kicks in. Not to mention, she should be just as concerned about women that are into young girls.

My issue with this whole different bathroom argument is that you often can't tell if someone has a schlong or not just based on how they're dressed. So how do you possibly enforce this? They aren't all 50 year old crossdressers, and even if someone looks like that, they could just as easily be a former Eastern European female track star. But a lot of these people take hormones and spend an awful lot of effort to look as female as possible. Who's going to have the balls to accuse someone in a ladies bathroom of being a man? And what if they're wrong in their accusation? Also, as mentioned, should lesbians use men's bathrooms and gay guys use women's? And how do you police who is really gay or not?

This whole concept just falls apart in so many ways when put up against simple logic.

So, in other words, whatever.

InCorrect. Charlotte wanted to be pro trans, and the state immediately said hell naw!

I think it was just a random number. I thought it was oddly specific though.

BTW here is what's gonna happen in NC.

The Charlotte City Council will repeal their trans potty ordinance. Then the State Legislature will repeal HB2 which will be followed by a state referendum banning official transgender protected bathroom/lockerroom privileges.

The referendum will pass 60-40 and then the lawsuits will start up again. However, that will be a tough row to hoe for the queers because unlike sex gender is not a protected status.

....and then the nc supreme Court will over turn it. Just like they did with gay marriage

NC Supremes didn't overturn shit - it was SCOTUS. Besides that there is no grounds to overturn.

Gender unlike sex is not a protected class. Additionally, the trans are not being denied a bathroom/lockerroom.

Blanch I've lived in NC since 1999 - the NC Supreme Court doesn't overturn jackshit.

The NC State Constitutional Amendment Gay Marriage Ban (2012's Amendment One which I voted against) was overturned by a Federal Court of Appeals and then the case stopped after SCOTUS made their gay marriage ruling.

Dr. Strangelove wrote:Over 40 percent of transgendered people attempt suicide.

Wild ass statistics with no links to sources. Seems legit.

Good thing for society is that people who think like you are decreasing by 10% a year, so by the year 2030 you people will be pretty much insignificant.
